Hi - I'm thinking about getting a 1 gig USB flash drive for my laptop. Do these flash drives use a lot of power ? I want to fill it with some MP3 files and play them, rather than using a CD Rom, which I believe uses lots of power. I did see something called a "2.2 gb quikdisk" enclosure. Basically, it's a removeable CF card inside of a USB enclosure. The power rating on it is:
voltage 3.3/5.0 VDC +/- 5% auto detect current (write) 275 mA current (idle) 18 mA I'm not an electrical guy - does anyone know if this is a lot of power usage on a laptop? Thanks! |
