Default which ram to buy, 533 or 667?

Hi. I am planning to upgrade to 2gb ram, as I have vista. I currently have a core 2duo 2ghz 4mb cache , 677FSB. I sure feel dumb when i bought the laptop, thinking that i would buy the 667 ddr2 ram that i currently have to match the FSB of 667.
So i have been reading online, that in real terms my system will not be using the full potential of the 677mhz ram. (im still unsure of the techincal words).
Would the 533 ram be a better match with my current system (since I have a dell insprison and cant overclock it)? The 533ram has timings of 4.4.4.12 and the 667 ram hs 5.5.5.15.(is this a big difference between numbers)?
So, would it be better to go with 533 ram then? Would it perform faster than the 667 ram? thanks

You could buy 667 or 800 ( 800 will downclock to 667 but it still would work), try to keep around the same speed, never buy slower than you already have

I am not sure what is the maximum that your laptop can take... but if you have 533 right now, it is best to buy the same speed RAM if you are going to use the current RAM and wanted to add some more...

However, if you are not going to use the current one and wanted to upgrade to the max speed RAM your laptop can handle, you would then have to remove the current 533 RAM and replace it with whatever max speed RAM your laptop can handle...

Hope I am not confusing you...

Thanks guys. Well my FSB is 667 mhz, so i wouldnt really think about going beyond that. I do currently have 667mhz ram (2x512). So i am going to upgrade to 2x1024. I was just concerned if there was a big difference between 533 and 667 latency timings, but since there really isnt, ill stick to the 667 ram. Thanks for your input
