I use Spybot Search & Destroy. Some people say SuperAntiSpyware is also great, but I am satisfied with spybot yet..

Though one would be sufficient, it is recommended that you have several anti-spyware program in your computer (probably 2 or 3)... Because there might be a case where a spyware is picked up by one scanner but not by the others...

What I have is AVG Anti-Spyware, SpyBot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware SE and Spyware Terminator.

Also it is good to have CCleaner so taht you can remove any residue that those s[yware remover left behind during removal... It helps clean up all your temporary internet files and many other things and hence making your computer works faster, at least noticeably faster...

The clashes are only possible (but still rare If) if the app has some form of real-time protection, like spyware terminator. Ad-aware is an example of a spyware app that doesn't have any resident protection so it will work with anything. I currently have both above programs and run them regularly. Keeps me clean.

No, it won't. At least to my knowledge. I have all three of them installed in my laptop and they work great. I even got Spyware Terminator installed as weel at some point but one day it just decided to scan my computer non-stop hence making the CPU usage 100% and slow down the whole system. Not too sure what happen so I just uninstall it.

Well, it does for a certain period of time (30 days). After that it will just not work because its a free version. So I guess in a way you are right, It does not have a real-time protection.
