Default Windows Movie Maker

Hi, Iam new to this forum, and need some help with Windows Movie Maker. I record alot of videos of me playing the guitar, and them I post them on You Tube. I usually just record myself playing over a song, but what happends is that the song is to load and you can barely hear me playing the guitar over it.

Is there a way for me to load the song track useing windows movie maker, trough a direct feed then record a video over that. So that way I don't have to record both Guitar and song through mic. Thanks for the helps sorry if I didn't explain it right.

If not, are there any programs simuler to windows movie maker that will do what I want it to do?

I really need help, so if you can get back to me A.S.A.P that whould be good.

I don't know if this is quite what you are looking for, but:
In MovieMaker, at the bottom by the storyboard, click on "view timeline"
There you will see a space where you can drag a music file into your video (you can drag it once it is loaded into the moviemaker collection of files).
Now right click on that audio file in the timeline and select volume. You can now turn the volume up or down to fit the video file as you want it.

Oh, and I almost forgot.... WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!! It's always good to see new faces on board.

So you want to record the song... then put your singing on top of it so it looks like you doingboth at once?

If you already recorded, try Virtual DJ.

Well I want to play guitar over a song, but when mic'ing both song and guitar, the song gets too loud, and you can't hear the guitar.

So I figgured I whould have to have the song, trough a direct feed and just play the guitar over it, in a video. Is that possible? I've seen it done before but I have no idea how.

Sorry if iam not explaining it right, btw are there any other Free programs like Windows Movie Maker out there. And thanks for welcoming me to the forums.

Get a Mac with iMovie and Garageband you can record your audio/video edit/master it and then author it to DVD with iDVD all out of the box.

Windows movie maker is probably the worst video editing software out there.
