Default Desktop to Laptop

I'm not sure if this thread should go under the laptop or desktop section. What I want do is. I don't have room for my big desktop monitor. So if I run a vga cable from my desktops vga port to my laptops vga port would I be able to use my laptops monitor for my desktop. So I can just switch back and forth with my laptop and view both?

unfortunately not as the vga port on you're laptop is for output not input.

Andy said it well, the VGA port on your desktop is an output, but so it the one on your notebook, so you cant use your laptop LCD for your desktop monitor via that method.
