Default Connecting Surround Sound :S

Ok. I have just bought a set of Logitech X540 speakers (5.1 surround sound), and I'm trying to connect it to my computer. My computer's sound card is 7.1 channel, but only has green, blue and red ports on the back. And the cable from the speakers to the computer has a green, orange and black plug. So i need to know what ports to plug then into.

A friend of mine did tell me that i can plug them into any plug and then in RealTek sound manager tell the plugs what they have plugged in, but i have no idea how to do that either :S

Thanks for any help

The green colored plug on the Logitech speakers is the front pair with the black for rear. The amber is for the center mix. On the card the green is also for the front with the next for rear and last for center mix on Creative cards. A fourth jack above the green on the sound card would be for a mic or line in seen there. The booklet that usually comes with the card or text file on the software/driver disk would show which jacks are for what anyways.
