Just switched from AGP to PCI express, and put in a EVGA 650i ultra, an EVGA nvidia 8800GTS, an intel core duo 2, and some dd2 ram....hooked it all up the best i could following the instructions, turned it on expected some kind of error due to the switch in systems, only to get....nothing! No beeps, no error noises, and the hard drive doesn't even kick in...
Tried it with no IDE's and ATA cables plugged in, trying to get a boot screen, but nothing..... Fans on graphics card, CPU heatsink, and main computer fan are all on.....so what in the world should i do to start troubleshooting? Thanks you guys are awesome! |

Yeah i think thats probably the problem. What model is that psu?
8800's are power hungry, they want about 26a.

I think its the power supply, i believe it only puts out 22a. And the video cards atleast needs 26a plus whatever else the psu is running
So yeah i think its just too small

What Voltage does this run at? I have no idea why it lists different voltages....if someone can let me know that would be awesome.
Also, i've confirmed that at 3.3V it only runs at 22A, so this would explain it huh? Simply putting in a stronger PSU should fix it? What about this one? http://www.xoxide.com/ultra-x-connect2-titanium.html |

Awesome recommendations!
Only problem is i've already ordered the other one and it's on its way. Would you think it would do serious good to send it back and get another one? If so, what would be the best one for my setup? Sorry to ask so many questions i'm done now, thanks a ton for your help! |
