Default el-chepo sound card

hey all,
would even a cheap £30 soundcard be better than onboard system audio?

not that theres anything wrong with my onboard sound,Infact its quite good but i was just wondering.

does a dedicated soundcard handle all audio or just the expensive sound cards with their own processors built in that handles all sounds etc?

cheers

Neva

I believe all soundcards has their own processors built in. As for sounding better, I think it kind of depends on how good your onboard is (and now new it is), especially if we're really talking about really low end sound cards.

Definately better for around the £30 mark, you can pick up and Audigy for less than that on ebuyer. Could probably pick up something like and Audigy 2 off ebay...
