I have a Compaq Presario 1500 laptop that locks up occasionally for no apparent reason (I'm running WinXP). I'm pretty sure it's not a memory/hard drive problem, but rather a power management problem in Winblowz. The reason is that the problem seems to occur much more frequently when the laptop is running from battery as compared to when it's running on AC power. Is there some kind of software patch that I can download to "fool" the computer into thinking that it is running on AC power all the time, or another solution to this annoying freezing problem? Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.
