Post should i get vista

ok guild wars 2 is coming out next year sometime i believe not sure when just yet and i am kinda worried about the system requirements for it and i might not be able to get my hands on a geforce 8 no time soon so should i get windows vista soon or no plus vista does use alot of system requirements too so that might bog down my games performance in guild wars 2 if i get it that is but i really dont know what i should do i mean if i want to play directx10 games i need a directx10 video card plus i may need to have vista to run the newer games too in order to play them in directx10 plz help me out with this one on what choice should i make i have a agp slot 8x but i will have to build a pci e computer if i want to have a directx10 card

Tought predicament. Save some money, and ask for a new Mobo with PCI-e for christmas. You dont need DX10 if you dont want it to perform at its very best, but i can definitely see where you are coming from. Microsoft should have fixed Vista by the time you really need it. You aren't in any hurry if guild wars isnt out for another few months.

Vista doesn't bog down as much resources as everyone says it does. I say go for it.

I have two friends who both have Vista ( don't remember which one exactly) and they both said Vista was taking too much resources. They both went back to XP...

Well I only have a gig of RAM and it runs smoothly for me. Yes, it takes a bit more resources than XP did but nothing overly noticeable.

Still there are quite a few bugs that needs to be fixed and also compatibility with older XP games/programs.

That's true - there are some compatibility issues and minor bugs. For the most part though I haven't had too many problems.
