Default Onboard Audio/Mobo

So apparently my Mobo has 6 channel output. How do i take full advantage of this and recieve 5.1 seeing that there is only one connection of output. (green, output, pink mic, and blue input) into my mobo. I would love to not have to pay more for another sound card, but if i must, then i shall.

Thanks, Cupcakke.

Look around for software on your computer. Some older motherboards could use the Line-in and Mic ports as outputs as well. Usually there's some software for the sound card that's included with the drivers where you can select the type of output.

Sometimes, Your sound on your board comes with software that allows you to configure your audio, Like mine. I have SoundMAX HD audio 6.1 but only have 3 jacks. But it allows me to configure it to make 5.1. Cool when i first saw it. It was a utility that came with my motherboard.

Welllllll that helps, but i cant seem to find any software. I have an old ECS 915G-M board. Says 6 channel, but cant find any software. Is there a place i can search for on my computer, or look for?

Cupcakke.

Edit: So i went into my Sound settings through control panel and through advanced i was able to change it into 5.1 surround sound.... doesnt tell me how to set it up or have it sound 5.1 or anything. Is this the right place?

Okay i installed the new drivers but i havent bought my 5.1 speakers so i cant plug them in right now. i dont see a new manager or controls or anything new though. Do i just set it up with Center(green, output) for sub, Left(blue, input) for Left speakers, and Right(pink, mic) for right speakers? Thanks.

Cupcakke.

No really. Green for speakers, thats what the main thing to know is. Red/pink for mic.
