Please tell which is better deal?

Hello guys im thinking of buying a new laptop but there are two laptops which i like and im not sure which one is better they are both same price for $999. The first one is Area-51® m5550 (alienware) which its aspects can be found here

the second one is the Inspiron Notebook 1420 from Dell same price its aspects are here once there click on product details (under the green "customize it" and a new window opens and then click tech aspects.

Please tell overall which computer is better. i mainly want to use this for school and maybe a little bit of counter-strike source. please tell me which has better graphics card and stuff. Tell me which upgrades should i "really really" get i know for sure i need the extra batteries. Well thanks alot if u can compare the two.

The first one is a lot better, but if it's for School and some light gaming, it may be overkill.

I would go for the first one, and then upgrade it apart, because alienware ask for some serious $ for upgrading things like the 2gb ram (100$ ya right)
