Good Morning Everyone. The more I try to learn/figure out, the more confused I get. I'm preparing to build only my second system. (The first one is still working fine after 10 months, so I guess I did alright on that one.
) I'm wanting to use an AM2 this time around, and I like the luck I have had with ASUS boards, so I want to stick with them. I have two questions.1. If I build with a M2N32-SLI Premium VISTA board, would I have any trouble running XP on it? (I'm thinking of dual-booting XP and Vista on seperate HDDs.) 2. What exactly is the wireless in the ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition used for? |

I guess I should have been a little more specific, huh? What I should have asked about the wireless is this...Does the wireless element simply serve as a wireless card for a remote/networked computer, or does it serve as a router for the primary computer? Thanks

its basicly an intergrated wireless card with an antenna. so it doesnt funtion as a router.

Thanks, Archangel. Since I started this thread, I've decided to get the M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition, so the info about the wireless board is just good info for me to know now, I guess.
I do have another question about the M2N32-SLI Premium Vista board though... I also purchased a new SATA Hard Drive to use as my primary on the new build. I read in the specs that the M2N32 has 1 IDE connector that two devices can be connected to. I have two IDE hard Drives in the old computer that I will be cannibalizing. I'm thinking now that I can use these two drives as D and E drives using a 40-pin 80 conductor cable to set up a master/slave connection. Is that right? If so, do I need to be aware of anything if I do this? Thanks. |
