Network Monitoring Software
Hi, I own a small business with several office locations, and I want to monitor all of my users. The offices are not connected through VPN or anything, so I purchased a virtual private server (VPS) through 1&1. As I began setting up my VPN settings, the company quickly brought it to my attention that I could not setup a VPN on a VPS. For the last few weeks I've been using Hamachi as a VPN handler, but my company is growing, and I don't want to pay a monthly fee. I've also been using the trial of Insight, a Faronics program. It works nicley with Hamachi, but Hamachi is ineffective because employees can simply close the program, and be invisible to the monitoring.
I believe the server can be setup as a domain controller...I'm not keen on domain controller functions, but could each computer log on to this domain, and then be 'networked'? If so, I would be able to further impliment Insight, and continue to monitor with a more efficient network.
However, if this is not possible, I really need a program (or solution) that can monitor client computers over the internet, such as VNC-type program. I work from a seperate office away from all of the others, so I could use my office location as the 'server' for the program if need be. If anyone has any information or a resolution, any help would be fantastic.
