Default modding

Well, recently I have come up with a few good (at least to me) ideas for mods. I wanted to try my skill at modding, but I have absolutely no idea where to start or anything. I know that modding is a big project and all of that, but if anyone has any ideas about websites/books/etc that might help get me started, that would be great.

Thanks,
the Roaming Gnome

If you can see this, you have WAY TOO much time on your hands. Or you're a mod going through my sig. But if you do see this, copy and paste this in your sig.
