Hello Everyone. new to the forum Hope all is well. I recently Upgraded my P4 Cpu from a 2.6 Ghz to a 3.2 extreme sl7b8. Hopped into battlefield 2 last night and it wasnt running rght lagging . at about the same time i got the alert that the cpu was runnng around 67 C. I want to get a new cpu fan and heatsink but one that works very well.
I am not going to overclock but i do want somethng that cools the cpu as much as possible for a reasonable dollor. was looking at the Andy samurai master . looking for more suestions . but i would like to see oit run around in the 40's or low 50's if thats possible. I was also going to buy that arctc thermal paste i think #7. Looking for some guidance here thanks alot |

hmmm i think the artic is for skt 775 cpu's only. You need to have some sort of thermal paste or it will over heat, and artic silver 5 is the best.

if youre on a budget get a freezer 7 for sure.
if you are in the 50-60$ range get a thermalright 120 extreme, it is the BEST air cooler atm

so far soo good. I looked at the artic freezer and yes its for socket 775 which i do not have. my budget isnt really limited but i would like to spend maybe around $50.00 tops with the arctc 5 paste.
I just looked up the thermalright and if whats written is correct that cooler is for intal lga775 the zalman i heard were disapponting or just that they werent the most effeciant heatsink maybe its just that you expect ,more from a pretty design. No one commented on the andy samurai master cooler and good bad ?? i would like to order somethng tonght if possible so i can get the show on the road. so thanks everyone for the opinions . maybe we can fnd something for me. might just get what thatguy recommended from newegg for $20.00 ARCTIC COOLING ACFZ4 80mm Ceramic CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink if the review s accurate thats exactly what i am looking to do. run that babynice and cool. I guess the heatsink i am using is from my 2.6 ghz and just cant get rid of the heat fast enogh. Thanks agan everyone keep the suggestions coming. the artic freezer 7 pro was a nice cooler escpecially with the long mtbf 120,000hrs more than double the majority of warranty and mtbf |
