Default Is this a virus? spyware? adware?

Whenever I search google for something and click on a result it takes me to an irrelevant site (mostly pornographic and advertising sites). Is this some kinda spyware/adware? How do I remove it?

I've already got an antivirus (Avast), antispyware (AVG), and a firewall (Zone Alarm), and they're all up to date, but none of them have detected anything

Let's see what's going on here. Please download the HijackThis installer from http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en...HJTInstall.exe.

Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

When the Notepad window opens choose Edit -> Select All to select the entire log, and copy and paste the log into a reply post.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Done the same thing. Unless it told you to download and install something, then it's nothing. Do an HJT log though, for an safer.

Search Hijackers like this are reasonably common. If you know that the site you should be going to is valid, it's almost certainly malware.
