Oscar, he also said in terms of price, not just performance.

The best bang for your buck would be the Core 2 Duo's, although the Q6600 is a great deal for a quad-core processor.

Price/Performance wise, I would say the E6750 or the Q6600

for gaming the Q6600 at $266 packs high performance at mid-range budget.

You were correct in saying that the Q6600 is well worth it, however the Extreme models carry a $1000+ price tag, and really arent worth it for the performance you get.
