Unhappy Music = Crash

Title seem weird? Believe it or not this has nothing to do with limewire or anything else downloadable. A buddy of mine was trying to set up my xbox 360 so it would chat with my computer so I could pull music from the pic and run it on the 360 "networked". Well, he deleted some codecs or something and now anytime I try to run any media application the computer restarts. Wether it be WMP, Itunes, iMesh, quicktime, or anything else. Anyone help? Please!

Do you know what he got rid off?

Also are they still in the recycle bin?

That's a double no
I've tried to find something that is missing but I haven't found anything.
My fear is that I'm going to just have to reformat and put a fresh OS on

I would try the "repair" option first before you go down the reformatting-and-reinstalling-everything route.

What is this repair option that you speak of?

turn the computer off (with the xp cd inside)
turn the computer back on
when prompted to press any key to boot from cd - then do so
follow the initial steps as if you were going to install xp
very early on, you will be asked if you want to "repair" or "install" xp
select the option to "repair".

Well, I tried the repair option. I pressed r for repair, it went to a black screen and I selected the computer I was using, put in the admin pw, and I have no idea where to go from there. I logged on as one of the other user accounts on the computer just to see if their did the same thing and suprisingly it it didn't!! Which makes me wonder if there is something in or not in my account that is causing this error Any idea's?

Have you tried running scans from Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware? It could be some malware...

I have both running...and I haven't gotten anything as far as I know. I'll do another search just in case though. Maybe something has been over looked.
