Hi. I run a database that has received an offer from another database that covers the same subject. Part of the deal on their part is that some of the entries on their database will have a link to the respective entries (page) on our database.
This other database is very successful on Google, so I'm hoping this will enhance my SEO. However, what I'm worried about is that Google won't like all these links coming from the same site. Is there any truth in that? Does anyone know anymore on the issue as I might want to reassess the deal if it actually isn't going to do our SEO much good at all. |

Don't see what Google wouldn't like about it. They're basically just advertising you on their site, giving people other suggestions. I see no problems with that. Just an affiliate.

No, It does not matter. My understanding is that when you have one link or even 50 links on one site, Google is still going to show only that one link when searched. I think it matters more if you have one link, on a lot of different sites other than just 50 links on one site.
Does that answer your question?

Well, If you have more than just one homepage link, and you're linking to a bunch of different a pages on your site, I'm not sure if you will get a whole lot more traffic then just say, one link.
I mean, say there's two sites, two different organizations, but they're both setting towards the same goal, and both advertising each-other on their site. If people searched for a particular word, and both sites had those words in them, then you're probably going to get multiple links to different parts of the sites(Or a particular pages with that word). I'm pretty sure thats how it works. I could be totally wrong though. So, my recommendation is to put as many links on the sites as you want, or just put one, your choice. It might help, it might not. But I strongly suggest you find some other sites to put links on also.
