Default Buying A New Laptop

I've got a $2000 budget only from US if warranty will still work in Canada. I'll be using it for gaming, watching movies on 32" LCD TV, music and general use. Any ideas? I know everyone hates dell but I'm still partial to them if it's an option. I was thinking 17" screen, HDD doesnt have to be crazy big just 120Gb or 160Gb.

Do you want to buy from the US because of the nearly 1:1 exchange rate?

Dell wouldn't be an option if you wanted to buy it from the US, because you can only order them online I believe. You would have to know someone in the states in order to get the laptop shipped to them.

Ya it would be cheaper if I bought from the US and I can ship to a relative in the US. One question I have is whether my warranty would still work. Also that should be factored into the price that I want a 3 year warranty preferably with accidental damage covered.

Might want to check out Asus while your at it. I own a laptop by them and I can honestly say that they are very solid laptops...Sleek and stylish as well.
