Are 2.1 speakers just for gaming?

lmfao how would you use 2.1 for gaming? youd be so lost looking for people no matter how calibrated.

headphones or 5.1/7.1 surround.

2.1 is pretty much just music.

i use sennheiser headphones and my z5300e's for loud ass gaming.

X-230's in my opinion, get some x-530's if you can.

no speakers are made specifically for gaming really. 2.1 basically means your left speaker, your right and a subwoofer so you can get great bass. This is the setup you want for music

actually you can get a surprising amount of stereo field with speakers + you get the great bass for sound effects. It depends on the game. For counter-strike fair enough headphones are V important. But that's the only game where you really need full direction

almost any first person shooter, you need 5.1 or headphones.. matter of opion i guess.
