Default problems with monitor

ok,here is the problem,as i start the computer and it's in the middle of booting,a strange message appears
it says "control locked"
then after some times another message comes "control unlocked"
then after sometimes the monitor display menubar appears and it says "brightness"
even if i press exit button on the monitor,it still won't go away.
if i keep pressing the exit button,it will go for a short period and come back soon after i release the button.

after that, the cycle of 'control locked" "control unlocked" and "brightness/contrast/etc" will continue.

infact ,my whole monitor display has changed.it has become much smaller and brighter.

what can i do to stop this?
can i stop it without touching hardware?

Default

That's odd. Is there a way to restore your monitor settings to a factory default by using the on-screen display of the monitor?
