I am set on buying a Minolta 35-70 f/4 lens for my A230. After looking for a while, I found what seems like a good deal. Its a Minolta Maxxum 5000 SLR film camera with a Minolta 35-70mm f/4 plus a Minolta Maxxum 1800 AF flash plus a skylight UV protection filter, a yellow filter for B&W, a polarizer filter, a body cap and a case for the flash. Considering the lens by itself will be about $40, and for $10 I can have a film camera to play with, and a couple of filters for my new lens. I asked the seller to send me some better pictures of the lens, as the one provided just wasn't cutting it. The lens looks to be a pretty good condition, but I wanted to get some opinion on weather or not I should buy it. Probably not the best place, but I know I can always turn to you guys.

Pics of the lens(pics are to big, so I'll just post the links)

http://a.imageshack.us/img16/8132/dscn9539n.jpg

So what do you guys think? should I buy? or pass this one up? looks to be nothing more then dust.

They are always changing and with that comes many features that are far better than the current camera I own. My last was supposed to have a feature that would allow me to take pictures of moving people/things but its always blurry. So I'm fed up with that perfect picture going wrong. I'm on the hunt again...

Hello there, there's been some interest in my church lately for live streaming, and unfortunately Im the closest thing we have to a tech guy, and Im not particularly good at it.

I was turned onto Ustream by a friend, and it looks simple and easy to use.

Were looking into getting a camera right now, the help center on Ustream recommends the Sony DCR-HC38 for a good entry level camera, so of course Im looking at that, its definitely within budget, as were trying not to spend more than 2-300 dollars on a camera.

Also, does anyone know if the stream bandwidth is dictated by the camera or the stream software itself? The reason I ask is that the only internet we have available has a max upload of around 5-600 kbps, so Id like a camera that averages closer to 300kbps or so.

Anyway, any other recommendations in the same price range that support live streaming?

Pretty simple here. Take a photo that gives the sense of a thrill or a someone/group having fun.

Playing this tournament is simple:

A photo tournament involves 11 participants (maximum). The winner of the last tournament will give a theme, and those who want to participate will post their pictures (Only one per person). If entering a slightly computer manipulated photo, please post the original along with it so users who are voting can see the difference.

After 11 participants have entered the tournament, a second thread will be made in the Off Topic section with a poll to vote on the pictures.

The winner will simply be the one who gets the most votes. He/she will then create another thread in which they propose a different theme for the next tournament.

Some Rules:
- No spot saving; you will only be counted if you have a picture submitted.
- Only one picture may be posted at a time, if you decide to change it, please edit the original post.
- No posting an image that has previously won a competition.
- Resize your pictures to no larger than 1280 x 1024.

Tournaments will have 4 days of voting.

Here's mine:
