Hello, everyone.

I work for a small business and would like to streamline our proposal process by using user-completed forms. However, I am running into some issues with certain programs and wanted to know if any of the experts on here had some insights/suggestions.

I just need a form, addressed to our customers by name and home address, which itemizes their order and gives a total cost at the end. BUT, I would like the form to be as simple to use as possible, since there may be a few people with little computer skill using the forms.

Basically, the forms will have fields that contain choices on the order form. For example: One sentence in the letter might read: "...paint color to be: ______", where the blank could be one of five different colors, chosen by the customer and then included by us in the letter.

I tried creating the letter in Microsoft Word 2010 using drop-down menus, but some item lists may or may not be included in each letter. So, if the customer didn't order a particular item, then whoever is filling out the form will have to manually delete the drop-down menu field, which will be too much work for them, I think.

Next, I have tried OpenOffice Base to create a database to house customer orders and print out the form using Reports. I am fairly familiar with Microsoft Access (but I don't want to shell out the $200 or so for Access), but found the Reports in Base to be hard to change and plug in the data into a pre-written letter template.

I could also use a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, include drop-down menus for the fields and then Mail Merge into a Word document, but then I would need a new Excel file for each letter, or have to teach my co-workers how to Mail Merge only single rows (not likely to happen with them).

So, does anyone have some good suggestions on how I can create a simple letter template?

The programs I have access to are: Microsoft (2010) Word, Excel, One Note, Outlook and OpenOffice (any).

I thank you for any help!

I would like to make a training programme for asp.net. After an initial investigation, I reached a conclusion that if the programme was to be made professional, sound (voice) would have to be recorded separately to the video. At the end, with the help of software (by syncing together) all the delays during playing were eliminated but there was a fundamental problem in that when sound was mixed with video, the quality of the file was reduced.
For editing sound and video, EDIUS5 software was used and for recording we used Camtasia Studio 6. We tried various formats but to resolve the quality problem, the video files were saved in hd/hdv format using EDIUS 5 software.

The last result, during the showing of the video, the picture would not cover the whole of the screen and there were problems with the edges (showed black).
The size of the created files were very large and this has made it very difficult to upload it .

Could you please offer any suggestions as to how to remedy this problem???

I need to install software on my 2 children's computers to limit the amount of time they spend on SPECIFIC sites. It does not have to be stealth because I've already laid down the rules. Also, it needs to be password protected and I don't need to track WHERE they are going. I just want to limit the amount of time they spend on 2 sites. I don't need to block the time they spend on the internet as a whole, but just 2 sites. Because they use the internet for school research and stuff. Does everything I say make sense? LOL

So, I don't want to monitor them, just limit the time they spend on 2 sites. I just don't think spending 5 hrs/day on social networking is healthy.
Oh, and 1 has a mac the other a pc.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

I tried it on my computer which has windows 7 32-bit and it works fine. I have two questions: does it make any difference whether the OS is 32 or 64 bit in terms of software? And if it does, is there any chance that installing 32-bit software on a 64-bit system will hurt the computer?
