Ok so here's the deal. I just bought a sound card with optical output to work with my home theater system. Obviously both support optical output / input. Everything works just fine in windows media center. DVD movies play in 5.1 and tv shows play in 5.1. Since it's a home theater system I know when ever the computer isn't outputing digital sound because it will automatically switch to dolby pro logic. I would love to be able to play my games with 5.1 surround but for some reason I just can't seem to make it work. For example halo 2. It has a setting under audio that allows you to tell it to use 5.1 but the game never makes the computer switch to digital output so I never get anything more than prologic. Any ideas how I can correct this.

(Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, Halo, Halo 2, Portal, Dirt, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Far Cry 2, Guild Wars, Far Cry, Perfect World are among the games I have. It would be nice if I could get at least one of them to work)

Thanks

Hello,
I have an IS-450 scanner from Ricoh which supports duplex scanning.

Before I had an XP with Office 2003, and I used the Office Document Scanning software to scan my documents full duplex to one file.

This worked perfectly.

Now I have a Vista computer with Office 2003 document scanning. Scanning documents works perfectly, but it doesn't scan double sided documents automatically in one scan action anymore. Now, the program scans one side of all documents, and then I have to do a second scan of the other sides.

How can I resolve this issue?

Thanks for all tips!!!!!!

Best regards,

So, I've been playing with this literally ALL day! Here's what I'm trying to do:

I want to create a thumb drive that can take Iso's, directories, whatever, and boot them. Basically, for work, I'm going to have copies of Windows XP Pro, System Commander, Windows 7, etc, all on my thumb drive so I can open up a boot menu and select one to boot from. I thought of this earlier as I was trying to think of a way to avoid carrying/losing all of these utility CD's that I've collected over time.

No worries, we have everything legit at our work... I know that's a big deal around here, but I'm really just trying to create a thumb drive that can select utilities like this out of convenience.

The previous method I had almost worked. It could boot up iso's straight from the thumb drive, however, Windows 7 wasn't at all function - it said it needed CD/DVD drivers to continue, Windows XP blue screened when it said "Starting Windows..." (from the CD), and System Commander showed the Windows Boot Screen for about 2 seconds and BSODed on me. The only one that seemed to work was The Ultimate Boot disk. Anyways, any other ideas on how to get this accomplished? I don't care if they're isos or not, they can be directories or anything.. just need this done.

Thanks :)
