I just want to be able to multitask and be able to play some games occasionally.

Are there any decent desktops that fit the category? I've had my eye on acers for a while, but i recently found out most of them had integrated graphic cards, so i guess i won't be getting them.

oh, and by the way, i have about 550 bucks for the complete set (meaning monitor, tower, keyboard, etc.). So yeah, can anyone recommend me some good pre built computer? thanks in advance!

ps. I'm sorry if some of the stuff i said were wrong or contradictory, i'm not very knowledgeable about computers, that's why i'm asking you guys this haha

I have a problem or at least a decision to make. Right now I have what I feel is a very antiquated computer as per what I am able to do versus what I would like to do. I have upgraded it constantly over the years and its done relatively well but now I am surely in the market for something else. I would like to build as I am not a fan of Best Buy types. The specs of my current computer is below. My question is what kind of advancements can I put in my build computer that would satisfy much more than my current computer design. Product suggestions as well as web links would be awesome. Thanks.

Current Build:

Compaq computer system with ACPI x86-based PC
Running Windows 7
AMD Sempron 1800 mhz
ATI Xpress 200 chipset
2560 PC3200 DDR SDRAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 XT 256 mb
17" CRT (dual screens)
372.6 GB total split between 3 drives
DVD-ROM

New computer must be able to handle the following:
Multi-tasking significantly
Able to handle graphic intensive programs like the entire Adobe lineup . Poser, as well as the wide spectrum of programming
Decent audio capabilities as well as video capabilities
Expandable, upgradable, and fast
Capable of still running fast with dual screens

I hope I can get some advice on this because I have been searching these computer websites like Newegg and 3BTech and they have all kinds of parts I can use to build a good one with.

Both of my systems are either not functioning or barely running.
I'll start with the vista system. I had trouble where it wouldn't boot because it had this blue screen that kept saying something different every time. Then I started it in Safe Mode, but it wouldn't boot entirely (just stopped booting). Shortly after I managed to boot windows, but windows only runs the bare minimum of programs and I can only go into my computer and view photos, none of the audio/video programs work, and I can't open internet explorer or firefox. What should I do? It's a custom computer so I'm not sure how many shops will take it in to get fixed.

Okay, now for my xp system. Apparently I had only shut it down in hibernate mode before we moved. So, now, when I hook it up and start it up, the screen often won't even show anything, and if it does windows doesn't start up. Help please?
