Hi guys,
I am wondering if is possible for a team of you experience experts to put up a sticky chart about the comparission of the recent video boards. so weless experienced members can use it as a guide to know which computer has better video board to make purchase decisions?
For example, there are really only two dedicated card maker. AMD and Nvida.
put the cards which are about equal in performance side by side with their numbers and which area the cards strong and weakness, and their approximate price?
The information for computers are much more complicated than before, first time we only have VGA and 286. 386. 486 and pentiums. we could just made our decision by amount ram the speed of the processor. now we have different cores and all different number of video boards.

Hope someone will start this?

that idea for a guide was passed around once before. the guide itself hasn't been started yet, but it will be soon, unless someone else wants to pick it back up?

the idea is to help less experience people like me, say a computer with i5 2500k. one with AMD 5770 video board and other one with Nvida gtx 460. they both have the same amount ram and hd space. but I don't know which video board is better. so if there is a list that state the cards in simiar performance side by side then it will be easier to make the decision.
Thanks

It don't need to be a detail guide. something similar to tom's but stick it and updated it any new cards comes out. a simple table on the top with 3 colums that list the two brands of the cards and 3 popular games or programs that it can manages.

Is there a backbone that has been written for it yet? If so I'd like to take a stab at it.

Newest one, has the 79XX's. But isn't the Anandtech bench thing like what you're saying?

Look at the key at the top and hover the mouse over notes and it gives you all the stats, shows they're running on the same system, plus gives the specific drivers used, then gives you the specifics of the benchmark used, and has tons of them, plus the power draw and all that good stuff.
