How do you find the push/pull zoom on the 100-400?

The new 100mm is gonna be tempting but its over double the cost of the one i have currently and while it's 'L' glass..its a tough choice.

Honestly man, your camera is awesome.

Most people will tell you--bodies come and go but investing in glass is most logical!! What all do you have? I recommend very highly the 24-105mm F/4L it's a sik, sik lens and is actually the 'kit lens' for the 5D Mark II. Also, the 100mm F/2.8 usm macro is awesome.

I have like 8 lenses. and have tried most of the lineup cept the ones that are like 5000 dollars plus...

I'm quite impressed with this release..I mean they priced it well and jammed it full of features. I was shocked when I got the spec sheet. I bet it sells like crazy!!

I would keep your 40D and sell the XTI, and then put it towards a 7D.

Ahh you lucky bum!! lol I want one soooo bad. That will probably be the camera I get when I retire my 40D. Either that or I will get what i can for my XTi, and keep the 40D for my back-up.

Yeah, I think I'm going to get it man! My XSI and 40D need to be retired and passed on to someone else! I was all set to get a FullFrame 5D MarkII but this 7D is too well priced and stack with features!

I have no issues with the crop-sensor bodies so I think my choice is made. I want that 100mm 'L' also..haha

Looks like we got an October 9, 2009 release date for the 7D in Canada.

It's the only way to get things done, if you want them done.
Nah, I'd just ask him, see if they're still interested. Like a friendly reminder.
