Well the Pentium architecture isn't as good as the i7 that's the main thing that makes them better then any other and "C2Q" = Core 2 quad Architecture is a main factor in what CPU is better than another. for the i7 with Hyper threading it gives it 8 virtual cores so you can run multi core tasks better. Pentium would have 1 core but 2 threads when other single core processors would have 1 core and 1 thread

what do you mean? the pentium 4's had hypearthreading too, that makes them better than a quad core? And why is it a "C2Q", it's a quad core quad not a duo core quad right?

Core i7 has a better architecture and Hyper Threading so it's over all better then the C2Q and Phenom II, clock speed doesn't really mean anything.
