    RE: Ranch Dressing Thread.

Nice move, but I must warn you of something. Whatever French Dressing touches it makes it surrender. Just a FYI.

I highlighted that picture on your profile for about 5 minutes. I'm not seeing anything...
In fact, I'm getting the sense that you're making a fool out of me

Except I can kind of see something behind it in black so I'm tempted to keep trying...ha

That glitch mentioned before about things not showing up turned out to a minor item with Windows itself since after a few reboots into XP and then back it disappeared. It could be something memory or keyboard related since I just a new one in.

Interesting dilemna? Memory(physical) total as seen in the task manager = 3581-3588mb expected to be less! Available free ram = 2.8xxgb? Now deduct the 512 Vista uses to when rounding that to 2.8gb to see 3.312gb leaving about 300mb for other processes live AVG, Spyware Terminator's active shield.

It seems SP1 does report more then the 3-3.12gb total. Now real difference in performance to note until I find a way to get Delta CAD or another 3D graphics deal going. That's when a good demand could be seen. PC Wizard, SIW, and CPU-Z all simply indicate 4gb installed.

Here's a quick update! Once the new dimms went in I checked the properties to see...

The next step now is simply giving memtest a good run before testing the other idea out as I mentioned before. The old kit checked out ok there before setting that aside for likely ending up upgrading another case.

Finally going for it! You may recall that I was initially considering a 4gb rather then 2gb kit of Kingston Hyper X when seeing the $300 price tag then. Lately I first see the standard kit for $67 and just spotted the Hyper X kit that will be going in soon.

Why now? Besides Win 7 seeing a 64bit edition there when finally out buntu now sees an interesting 64bit version of the latest 8.10 release you can even see installed from disk while booted in Windows! really! A working copy of GParted comes along with the live to install releases as a rule since GParted always seems to be more popular then it's couterpart QParted mainly for Linux use only.

About the same as it was before. More busy days but also more days of absolutely nothing going on if that makes sense.
