Well, it's not SUPPOSED to touch the windows partition if you manually partition it, but if you were to do something really stupid you probably wouldn't be very happy. If you have something really important I'd back it up just in case, but you should be fine.

And I agree with Kornowski... Ubuntu rocks!

What up man? I have a question.

I finally decided I want Ubuntu My dad uses it and I think it's pretty sweet. Now my question is, I currently have XP but don't feel like backing up everything I have so I want to dual boot. Will the Ubuntu installation even touch the partition where Windows is installed? In other words, do I actually need to back up my data?

    Thanks man!

Yeah, but I don't think it's gonna work because of that stupid vent... I might still paint it though

Haha, there you go. I somehow thought you'd do something like that, since you just changed your profile picture

Make sure to make a thread or that you let me know or something on how it goes

Well, I was gonna do an AMD logo shaped window (cut out the outline, put in plexiglass and then put a square in the middle), but then I realized there was a vent where I wanted to do it and there was no other spot for it.

Heck yeah! But I think I might skip the window... I've come up with a new, somewhat easier idea... AMD logo!

I know man! Brushed aluminum is sexy as hell! Lian-Li's for example.

Making a window? Shouldn't be hard! I've done it myself.
