Hello to all the smart computer people out there, maybe someone can help me every time I try to do a clean install my computer I get a message saying device loader missing, something along that line. The dvd burner reads and it writes it does not install windows, can someone tell me what is causing this. My motherboard is Asus A58M-K. I have a quad core processor, 4 gig video card, 8 gigs of ram, I am stuck for answers. Also can someone tell me what ACHI and Raid mean and which one I should use. Thank you all for your wonderful help.

You should install windows in AHCI mode.

Are you talking about this message?

"The driver loader for the device is missing."

Sounds like you have a bad piece of hardware. Remove everything from the system not needed to install windows. No usb devices besides keyboard and mouse, no printers or external drives.

Hi John,

How can that be everything is brand spanking new, new motherboard, new ram, new video card. I have no external devices hooked up. Yeah when i install windows thats the message I get. I can put a dvd in the device and it reads and writes it just won't load the driver when I try to install windows. really frustrating..lol.

Just because everything is new doesn't mean it's good. Could be memory, hard drive, etc. At what point does it give you the message? What operating system are you installing? Can you give us a list of your parts?

Let me ask you something. How did you get those specs without being inside windows? You can only get that information from running a program from within windows itself.
