Hello, last week i had a problem with my pc. It turned off and on repeatedly. I fixed that problem by cleaning the dust and removing the video card and put it back again. But yesterday the problem came back!! First i got a blue screen saying kmode not handled volgrm.sys( something like that) and then it turned off and i cant turn it on again :(. I have a alienware x51 r2. My friend told me i may be a motherboard problem.

PSU is your power supply unit. Check out the link below for an animated description.

If the PSU is defective or overheating it will cause the PC to restart repeatedly, then the PSU will eventually quit altogether. A defective motherboard could cause your PC to restart, but from what you described it sounds more like the power supply.

You'll have to buy a new one. List the components in your machine and I'll tell you which PSU to buy.

OP in another thread wants to build one around €1000 so you might be able to put a whole pc together.. I don't know what the exchange rate is :( :p
