Hello everyone,

So i tried to install windows xp on an old asus F3F-AP115M and everything was going well untill the second part of the instalation when the laptop had to restart so it could do the first start up. Now it freezes in the asus logo screen and if i try to access the bios it also freezes on the menu before opening the bios. Pretty much i'm stuck and i can't find any help. Can someone help me out? I need the laptop for work.

Thank you in advance.

I'm guessing with it being so old it has a failing hard drive which will cause this sort of issue. Remove the hard drive and see if you can access the bios normally. If so, then the hard drive is bad.

This. The drive was likely failing before the installation occurred and may have failed completely after attempting to write the data for the OS install.

Hard drives in laptops really have the least amount of life span due to how they're handled, fortunately replacement SATA drives are pretty inexpensive.
