problem with win7 system restore

i have few problems with windows 7 ultimate 64bit


1.system restore pressing [Configure] tab--> give parameter error (0x80070057)

2.System restore Disk Space Usage slider not working: (moving, but goes always to: 0)

-System restore point can be made, but it can not use.

3.Normal restore gives error: System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's files and settings were not changed.

4. in safe mode ( there is no system protection tab at all)

System File Checker (sfc) scan is O.K

In sevices:
Windows Shadow Copy Service is: automatic
Microsoft software shadow copy provider: automatic

what i can do...help

System restore is very buggy and not reliable. What issues besides system restore do you have?

john is right.ive given up on system restore and rely instead on cloning my hdd for a backup.

if you are cloning then what is your concern with system restore?if cloning works dont use it.

I don`t want make images every week to external hdd ( my pc hdd is too small ). System restore is easy and fast way to fix smal problems.

If the capacity of your HDD is not large enough for saving images of each week, you can set to automatically delete the old images. I think Acronis true image has this feature? Or you can try free easeus todo backup with its schedule backup.

ah,i see,you are not cloning.if it was a clone it formats the destination drive each time a clone is done,so identical drive space on both drives.
