Asus wireless with windows ten

Hi guys.

So when a built my rig a couple of years ago, i bought an asus PCE_AC68 wireless card and have had no issues with it until a couple of months after i updated to windows 10.
Pc gave me error messages saying the wireless utility had a access error. long story short the cart stopped connecting to my router, so a just assumed it was done for. As a cheap fix, i then bought
ASUS USB-N53 Dual Band USB Wireless Adapter, once installed i got the same issues again, so removed drivers etc. installed just the driver without the asus utility and all was working, until my comp seemed to forget the card was there, so i had to plug in Ethernet, now a week on after turning on my comp, suddenly my wireless usb card is working again, has anyone else had issues like this? a friend said he did some research on-line and came across a lot of complaints about the asus drivers.

My friend has my AC68 card and when its installed in his rig it only picks up the router if its right next to it, when is strange considering its meant to be a powerful card.

Other than finding lots of complaints related to trying to get the thing working on Windows 10, I haven't found anything that sounds like it will fix it that you haven't tried. The only thing that comes up often is uninstalling the driver and getting the latest non-beta driver from Asus. I know you saidf you tried this, but I don't know if you used the windows provided driver to reinstall or what... for windows 10 64-bit, the driver to use is this one: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/PCE-AC68/UT_PCE_AC68_2115.zip

If that's what you already tried I can't find anything else that may help.
