Fresh Install for Windows 10 Help Needed.

Recently I bought a new motherboard so I installed it and I can turn my computer on and everything, but right now with the Windows 10 disc (and windows 7 disc) I have, my computer blue screens before I can do anything. This is how the cycle of it goes:

1. I turn on the computer

2. I enter in the BIOS and check settings in case if something is wrong

3. Windows loads up for a brief second (the windows logo and the dots that swirl around not the actual log in screen) and sometimes it loads with "Preparing system repair"

4. Blue screen with the error IQRL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_TO or BAD_POOL_CALLER or SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

If there is a BIOS setting I need to tweak or I can't use a disc or something please tell me.

Also above anything, the free option of changing settings takes a higher priority than buying new parts. So far a little mistake in late december has cost me about $70 and a month without my proper computer. Please help. Thank you very much if you did help.

You need to boot to the Windows DVD. It sounds like it's booting to the hard drive.

Did the steps I accurately depict what happens when Windows 10 is just loading from the Hard Drive without an install disc?

Yes. Why do you think I said it sounds like you're booting to the hard disk instead of the installation DVD?

Sounds like you are still trying to boot off the hard drive from the OS that was installed using the old motherboard. You need to boot to the dvd to delete the partitions and then set it back up and install 10 fresh. Change the boot order in the bios or you can usually press a key at boot to be able to choose what you want to boot to.

Thing is, I have been using the option to use the optical drive before the Hard Drive so what I thought was going on was Windows 10 was just interfering with me loading up the disc. The reason I asked you if that was the case was because I have been loading from the disc, but it just wouldn't.

I also just tried using a USB but the BIOS menu says it is as a hard drive and not a removable device.

Then it sounds like the its not detecting a bootable dvd in the drive. Is this an original microsoft install dvd or did you create it yourself? If you created it yourself, you probably didn't do it correctly. If you downloaded the ISO file, you just can't copy the file to a dvd and run it. You have to write the image to the dvd using software or any machine with windows 7 or above has the ability to do this built in.

I am using a windows 10 dvd made by myself, but it does recognize it because with the windows 7 DVD (actual windows 7 DVD) it loads differently without the windows 10 logo.

How much memory is installed? It's possible 1 or more sticks may be bad. Try running memtest on them.

The optical drive recognizing something in the tray and the optical drive recognizing a bootable DVD are two different things. It's obviously not recognizing it as bootable since it won't install... Did you burn the Win10 as an .iso file? As johnb mentioned, if you just copied files over it won't work; it has to be created as a bootable image (.iso).

for Johnb, no it is not a memory failure because this ram is new and has not been used on any system yet. For porterjw, I did burn the .iso file.

Just because it's new *****DOES NOT***** mean it isn't defective.

Notice how much I emphasized that.

Ok then, how would I do a memory test? Also the BIOS finally saw the USB, but still nothing new except most of the errors for the USB are MEMORY_MANEGMENT

Ok so I haven't done mem test because I am very lazy, but if it would fix the problem, I would be willing to erase my hard drive and start fresh.

Then maybe I'm too lazy to keep helping you!!! Seriously, if you want us to help then you need to do what we ask so we can further troubleshoot the problem. If you are too lazy to do stuff then take it in to a computer repair shop and have them diagnose it for you so you'll have to spend money.

If you have bad memory, a fresh install won't fix it. You would have to replace the memory.

Ok so this is weird. I would select to run off of the DVD drive, but then it would do the windows 10 logo, but I know that the DVD drive works because when I would boot windows 7, it wouldn't show the windows 10 logo, but it would load differently but with the same result.

Can you try a USB stick?
