What's so great about Noctua's fans?

I've seen Noctua fans online before and at MicroCenter and they're really expensive! But their brown and tan color is really ugly and would pretty much ruin the color scheme of nearly any build. Can anyone tell me what's so great about Noctua fans??

They make high quality pieces and some of their fans are particularly stellar in the static pressure dept. for use on radiators in water-cooling setups! (The F12's are wicked fans) The color scheme is what is, you either like it or hate it, (There are black noctuas also, not just cream and brown) I've used Noctuas for a long time, and they are robust fans, quiet, and perform extremely well in the setups I've built.

All this being said, are they the best? Thats up for debate, user preference, and application are all factors.

You wont go wrong with their products, but yes, there are other alternatives, as with anything in the computer world!

Thank you! I do like Noctua's black fans now that I've taken a look at them. They definitely seem like great quality units!

I love my NH-U14S CPU cooler. It's very quiet indeed, in fact it is virtually silent (even without the low noise adapter that Noctua supply it with), appears to be great quality and keeps my CPU cool. The cooler was only £50 which I feel is really good value for money. It has one of Noctua's fans on it and that is the key to its silence and part of the key to it's cooling abilities. I'm using it in an NZXT H440 case which is renowned for being a very quiet case, but not the best at keeping things cool and it manages to keep my CPU cool.

You get used to the brown colour after a while. It doesn't look too bad. Look at your computer side-on and you can't really notice it too much (and if your PC is sitting on the floor or underneath your desk you'll never notice it). As you can see, if you have any LEDs inside your case or on your motherboard the fan just looks the same colour as the LEDs.
