Razer or Ironside?

Hey, so I am a Web Developer, and am learning App and Software programming too. I am debating over this... Keep in mind that my brother is wanting to get into music as well, and he needs a decent laptop to work with too. I am debating over either a Razer Blade Stealth, or a customized PC from Ironside Computers. I have a budget of about $1400, and I move around a lot too. However, I already have a laptop (it's a pos), but I just need some ideas and opinions. What would you guys say?

What software will your brother run?
I think some software for music production only available for MAC?
Also, will he need to take it around to perform live?

BTW, i have no experience of the brand your are mentioning...
