Format Laptop

Hi

1. How do I format the hard disk of the laptop.

2. If I format the laptop, will the Ms Operating Systems and the softwares such as Ms Office applications be gone?

3. Is there anyway which I can format but still protect the Ms Office and Windows?

2) yes, everything
3) not really, most people will reinstall windows and office but there isn't a 'selective reformat'

Easiest way is to use the Windows installation DVD, wipe the hard drive, then reinstall Windows. After you format the drive, you need to reinstall Windows and all your applications.

I believe Windows 10 (and maybe 8) have the ability to restore your PC to factory settings, but it's not the same as reformatting.

I know Windows 10 has a Reset PC function and you can choose to keep your data or not.
