New Desktop Won't Post

Ok, let me preface by saying I have read the Tech Guide, watched tons of videos, asked around on other random forums for help before coming here.

I recently purchased a new computer to game and work on. It's a z-170-A Asus Motherboard, 2x8GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance, Corsair 750W PSU, and i-5 6600k Processor. I'm listing these parts so you'll see there shouldn't be a compatibility issue. However, my computer won't POST at all. I've looked around, watched videos and tried everything I can think of.

I have tried using each piece of RAM separately, in each individual slot, still the DRAM_LED is solid red. Each time I tried a new variation I held down the button for 2-3 seconds to let it try to connect, but it never did...

So my question is this: Am I S.O.L. and got bad RAM or is there something else I might be missing? The DRAM_LED is the only red light I'm getting so I assume it's the RAM, could it be something else?

Not likely that all the RAM modules have failed. So if anything have failed, it the motherboard.
Have you by any chance forgot to insert the CPU 4/8 pin power cable?
I have made that mistake once. Took me 20 minutes to figure out what was wrong.
embarrassing. XD

Funny that I have just answered a similar post by someone else. Unplug everything from the mother board and the power supply. just run the MB from the power supply and see if it goes to POST. Leaving that damn plug out is a valid point I have done that loads of times. If it doesn't boot with everything unplugged then it has to be the mother board or RAM or the power supply.

Oh and make sure the RAM is properly seated that can cause it.

Was there a PC speaker included? If it's a RAM issue you should be hearing audible beeps once it's connected.

I do have the 8 pin CPU power connected into the PSU and into the MOBO.

I only have the RAM, CPU and PSU plugged in right now. Using integrated graphics ATM because I'd rather not complicate things. Im 99% sure the RAM is seated correctly, I have to pull it pretty forcefully to get it out. Not yank, but I give it a light tug to make sure it's in just in case. I can take a picture of it if that helps.

There was not a speaker included, I am considering buying one though, or just taking it into a repair shop (which I really, REALLY, don't want to do...)

I don't think a picture will help now. It is beginning to look like the CPU, MB or PSU. The cheapest of things to try by substitution is the power supply. If this stuff is new I would assume that it should be under guarantee. It's not unkown for new stuff to be faulty especially computer motherboard and CPUs.

It is under guarantee right now, I bought it all last week from newegg. Maybe I should just send it all back and ask for replacements? Or should I try to narrow it down a bit before I do that? I could probably borrow a stick of ram from my brother, and his PSU wouldn't be a problem either, but Id hate to take apart his computer to get at the CPU

I think that at this time you have, probably, done everything you can and it is time to take it all back to the supplier. The problem is that if it is under guarantee the supplier may well say that you broke ii. I would be putting it all back together and hiding my attempts at repair as best I can and hope for the best. You could end up well out of pocket.
