Antimalware Service Executable 100% Disk

This seems to be a common problem but mine is weird. I tried restarting and turning off the things in task scheduler. Neither worked. I noticed it was saying that a scan was interrupted. I assume this was because I had accidentally started a scan but then canceled it. It didn't cancel right away so I just closed defender. Now it just won't stop inflating the disk no matter what. I even tried doing a scan and it didn't help. Any idea what to do?

Forgot to mention, sorry if this is in the wrong section. I wasn't sure if I should put it in OS or Security.

Disable windows defender as its garbage and use an actual free virus program such as Avast free, just do a custom install and only check web, file and mail shields. Uncheck all the other garbage.
