Which do I get? HP vs Acer

If your just talking these 2 machines, and only these 2, then the i7 Acer machine for sure.
They're around the same price +/- $50. 450 or 499.
These are what I found while shopping...do you have another recommendation for comparable machines?
The reviews for the HP weren't consistently good, but did have repeated bad qualities...my boyfriend has an HP and he really likes his...he was thinking acers were crappy, but they are not?

$669 and you get 7th gen i7, DDR4, SSD, HDD.. excellent for the uses you mentioned!! Also, this one is 1080p, the other one you listed is not!

DDR4 is the most current standard for computer memory (RAM)
SSD is a solid state drive. Its faster than a traditonal hard disc drive (HDD) and has no moving internal components, making them both ideal for your boot drive (windows) and mobile devices such as a laptop
SSD would give you faster bootup and access time speed. HDD would give you enough drive space for file storage.
