    External HD as Server

If you're up for a bit of DIY and have an external hard drive you could buy a Raspberry Pi and set up a simple samba share and have a network drive for $30. There are many tutorials for this online. If not it would be best to buy a NAS. Unless it's for backup, I cannot see any advantages from...

    Switch problem

Your computer is not communicating with any DHCP server. I would guess that the switch has probably simply lost it's physical connection to the rest of the network and you need try to find it. Have you tried giving yourself a static IP on the same subnet as the rest of the network and then using...

Computer Fails to Boot when HDMI is Plugged In - GTX 780

I had reinstalled the drivers already. I doubt it's a driver problem as the OS fails to boot. Thanks for your help though. :) I thought this might be the case. The warranty is still valid, so it's all good. Thanks!

Computer Fails to Boot when HDMI is Plugged In - GTX 780

Hi all, I have a GTX 780, the DVI outputs are working fine. However, when the HDMI is plugged in the computer powers on but the screen remains blank and the OS fails to boot (it turns off instantly when the power button is pressed). The full specs of this computer are in my signature. Does...

Assigning Domain Name to Home Server

I have a home server running debian with various services on it. I have a static IP from my ISP and am able to access my server via that. I'm wondering how would I go about assigning a domain name to this server? Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

You're right. That's what it was. I rang my ISP and they sorted it out. Thanks!

Help With Home Network / Port Forward

I get my connection from a local ISP (in Ireland) that supplies wireless connections to areas that the main ISP's will even look at. They supply a modem that connects to the aerial they've installed outside. From there I've connected it to a Sonicwall TZ 150, then to a switch and then to two...

3com 2024 Baseline Switch Power Cord

Pretty much just 'here you go'.. I got it from someone who was moving from their building and no longer needed the networking equipment, I also got two patch panels that I know work but the switch wasn't plugged in so maybe it's just a dud.. but I'm hoping there's some relatively easy fix :p

3com 2024 Baseline Switch Power Cord

I think it's probably a problem with the power unit.. here's some pictures: https://db.tt/daAi0EAO https://db.tt/fqcVZPhl https://db.tt/fqcVZPhl Does anything look out of the ordinary? If so is there anywhere I could get a replacement? The switch is out of warranty unfortunately.

3com 2024 Baseline Switch Power Cord

Thanks for your replies. I just tried powering on the switch with several different cables but the power light does not come on, nothing happens. :( Any ideas as to what could be wrong? Or am I just unlucky.. :P Nothing much yet, but if it works I want to really expand my network, including...

3com 2024 Baseline Switch Power Cord

Hi all, I recently acquired a 3com 2024 Baseline Switch but unfortunately I didn't get a power cord with it. A standard PC power cord does fit in it however, I don't want to break it so avoided turning it on, should this work? Or do I need to get a different cable? Here's a picture of it...

Post A Pic Of Your Pc Here :)

Haha, isn't it great? :D Thanks Jason! :P It's a great board, I have no complaints about it! The Z87X-OC is probably a slightly better board, but overall I'd say they're more or less equal. And like 87dtna said, the BIOS looks great, took a while to get used to it though :P

    new gameing computer

That CPU won't work, swap it for the i7-4770k. That CPU cooler isn't compatible, if you're not overclocking the stock cooler will work fine (I use it). If you are make sure the one you get is compatible with the LGA 1150 socket. Also, I'd swap the power supply for a Corsair HX 750. It has...

What's going on with my phone?

Are you downloading using Opera Mini? If so try uninstalling it and then re-installing. Also, try using a different browser and see if the same thing happens. Also, are you using mobile data or WiFi?
