Netflix on my TV is slow, but nothing else on the network is. Completely baffling problem.

Good thought. Dident think of that option. Anyway I returned the new TV I just bought and got a third some from yet another brand. Now it seems the problem is fixed. I connected at 5 GHz on wireless and got 110 mbps from the Netflix server ping. No idea why it took three TVs to fix it...

Netflix on my TV is slow, but nothing else on the network is. Completely baffling problem.

I have an 802.11ac router (Arris Surfboard SBG6900AC) with a 110 mbps cable connection. I get a solid 110 mbps on all my devices, my desktop, cell phones, laptop, everything... except my TV. One day I noticed Netflix kept buffering so I decided to use the Netflix "check network speed" option in...

Recommendations for cable wifi router/ modem for Time Warner?

What do you think about the Arris Surfboard SBG6900AC? My wife really wants to minimize the amount of IT stuff laying around, wires, plugs, ect so I prefer the combo units. When I say one device is better, that's what I mean--more simple, less equipment. I live in a small apartment, so range...

Recommendations for cable wifi router/ modem for Time Warner?

For Oceanic Time Warner 300 mbps cable. I am looking for a modem/ router combo as separate devices seem to be less reliable and more complicated. One device is better IMO.

    802.11ac slower than 802.11n???

The modem is the Motorola SBG6580. The iPhones are the 6 and 6s, both of which are 802.11ac capable. I am connecting to the 5 GHZ which has a different SSID from the 2.4 GHz band. There is no QoS enabled or bandwidth control service on either the modem or router as all settings are at default on...

    802.11ac slower than 802.11n???

I was using the Internet port. Why should I use the LAN port instead? Anyway, I think I figured out the problem. It looks like this router is a complete scam. It's rated for 1200 mbps 802.11ac. However, the specs show that it only has 10/100 Ethernet ports including the 10/100 WAN port. There...

    802.11ac slower than 802.11n???

I bought a TP-Link AC1200 802.11ac router because my iPhone was only getting 60 mpbs on 802.11n even though I am on a 110mbps connection. To my surprise I noticed that 802.11ac is not any faster on wifi, and on Ethernet it's considerably slower. I have a Motorola modem/ wifi router combo and in...

802.11ac and n support both on 5 Ghz band at the same time?

How to I chose to have a device connect at 5 Ghz on the n band vs 2.4? Does the ac router broadcast two SSIDs, one for 2.4 and one for 5?

802.11ac and n support both on 5 Ghz band at the same time?

But on 5 GHz? I know it can do ac on 5 Ghz and n on 2.4, but will it support both ac and n at the same time on 5 ghz?

802.11ac and n support both on 5 Ghz band at the same time?

Will 802.11ac routers allow for simultaneous broadcast of 802.111ac 5 Ghz, 802.11n 5 Ghz and 802.11n 2.4 Ghz? My phones support the ac standard, my TV and laptops supports the n standard but on 5 ghz. and my printer supports the n standard but only on 2.4 ghz. I would like to only have the...

How to upgrade hard drive without reinstalling Windows?

I have a 320 GB 5400 RPM drive that I want to swap out for a 100GB 7200 RPM drive I have laying around. The C partition only takes up 40 GB, so there is plenty of space. I defragmented the HD to ensure the clusters are contiguous, and then I put the drives in a hard drive duplicator. I assume...

HP Pavilion dv9000 motherboard SATA controler speed?

I am wondering if the SATA interface on the motherboard on a HP Pavalion dv9000 is a 3.0 GB/s interface or a 1.5 GB/s one. The hard drives that came stock with the computer are 1.5 gbps drives. I bought a Seagate Momentus XT which is set to 3.0 gbps stock and I need to know if it will work with...

Windows Vista - Write caching wont engage?

Well I looked in the device manager and it seems I have the HITACHI Travelstar 7K100 HTS721010G9SA00 hard drive which has 8 MB. of cache, so it does not look like its the hard drive preventing the setting from engaging. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822146053

Windows Vista - Write caching wont engage?

I took a second look and see that under "enable write caching on the disk" it says "this device does not allow its write cache setting to be modified". Why?

Windows Vista - Write caching wont engage?

I reset the computer, its still deselected. hmmm I am wondering if its possible my hard drives dont have any cache and thats why it wont select. I find that extremely unlikely though, pretty much every drive made in the past 10 years has cache.

Windows Vista - Write caching wont engage?

Thats not even remotely true. I have caching engaged on my desktop and I take a power hit every few weeks. Its been years and I have yet to have to reinstall anything.

Windows Vista - Write caching wont engage?

I have a laptop computer with Windows Vista home basic. When I go to the device manager and attempt to check the "enable write caching on this drive" for my hard drives, it wont work. It will let me check the box but when I click ok and go back in to verify its enabled, the box shows up as...
