    I took the laptop apart and had the motehrboard out. Checked the processor out also just to see how the thermal paste looked, I put Artic Silver on. It turns on, no screen. Power light is on, but the fan does not kick on, also hear the cd drive

    No video on an Asus I picked up pretty cheap, thought it would be a stupid fixed, could be more. Hopefully nothing like the motherboard being bad. It does have the I5 3210M processor, which is an IGP. My question is, could the graphics be bad on the processor?

    not just that it's prebuilt. There just isnt any room to upgrade it period, had trouble even finding processors that would even work. If youre trying to boost this to handle games, it's definitely not even close to support that

    yeah the sockets are different theres not much more room to upgrade that computer might be able to get it up to 4gb, and plus the 3.2 might be a little faster. but it's time to upgrade

    just make sure the FSB is the same. The 755 has 1066MHZ, so it should take any LGA775 processor Idk if it would make a good gamer, can try it though. I would guess it'll take up to 4GB RAM. You will need a low profile video card, but I'm not sure if you'll be able to find a powerful enough one...

    retail motherboard, it would affect lifespan and temperature. Lifespan not by much, depending on how far you push it, same with temps. Need to have a decent cooler and good paste, preferably Artic Silver
