XFX Radeon 4890 XXX Hissing and Flickering Problems

Yeah, it definitely squeals. It doesn't sound normal, but I wonder could this damage my card or could that have caused the sudden change to a less GPU intensive windows 7 theme? Because something is wrong with the card? And yes it's not a driver problem. I have latest drivers, reinstalled...

XFX Radeon 4890 XXX Hissing and Flickering Problems

My XFX 4890 XXX edition video card makes loud hissing sounds whenever I do something graphics intensive like play games. If I enable V-sync the sounds significantly settle down, but are still very audible. And just the other day it made a bunch of hissing sounds when I was at my desktop and...

    Filter proxy

In certain router settings, what does checking "Filter proxy" do? Block access to anyone using a known proxy, or does it just forbid known proxy sites/programs from being used by you? Or does it do the opposite and allow that?

RC works until June 2010, then you can ummm "acquire" it.

    Gtx 285 sli

On my low-end video card, World of Warcraft with full AA made it unplayable. When I lowered it by just a bit the frame rate doubled, sometimes tripled... Just my own personal example. And of course I noticed no difference in the quality of the game...

    logitech speakers

I have them plugged in to my TV via the headphone jack. Matrix mode is on but it's definitely not the same as true 5.1. To tell you the truth I haven't tried true 5.1 with these speakers yet - I want to use them with my computer but my computer just got bought and it hasn't shipped yet. As...

About to place order... last chance to stop me

So far my experience with NCIX has been amazing. I hope it continues. I noticed that the Asus P6T Deluxe V2 was on sale today, $50 off. Making it just $10 more than the motherboard I bought, the standard Asus P6T. I contacted NCIX via their online form and asked if I could change it. I expected...

    Looking To Buy New Desktop

If you don't want to build your own, then I suppose Dell.ca or HP would do?

About to place order... last chance to stop me

I didn't think the standard A6T supported quad SLI. If it does then cool, thanks. Mount three PCI-Express 2.0 x16 cards for cutting-edge graphic power with support for either NVIDIA 3-way SLI or ATI Quad-core CrossFireX. 100% all high-quality conductive polymer capacitors give longer life and...

That would be quad SLI? (2 GTX 295's)

About to place order... last chance to stop me

For instance, this is purely hypothetical, could I have 2 GTX 295's SLI'd with the standard P6T? I probably won't ever need something like that, but it's nice to have options.

About to place order... last chance to stop me

Should I have gotten the Asus P6T Deluxe or just kept the normal P6T? I don't really know the difference. I do want to upgrade to a better video card in the future, probably dual GPUs crossfired or SLI'd. So will the standard P6T suffice?

About to place order... last chance to stop me

Just for fun I went to tigerdirect.ca and added up all the components to see if I got a good deal. All in all if I bought every single part seperately it would have been $140 cheaper. However, I'd have to build it myself and it wouldn't include the NCIX 1-year warranty. Plus I'd have to pay a...

It was 750 watt although it didn't say which brand... which I assume is also very important. It could be some no-name from the dollar store.

I could've bought a pre-built Gateway for $100 or so less with a better video card (GTX 285), but I assumed Gateway used cheap parts that would hurt me in the long run.

About to place order... last chance to stop me

Was that sarcastic? Lol. No they charged $50 to build it, $50 for shipping insurance. Tax is 13% here which is outrageous but it's not their fault. So that may have raised the price a bit more than what you'd think.

    Radeon 4870 X2 or GTX 295?

Well I went with the XFX 4890 XXX edition.

    4890 or GTX275

That's odd since the benchmarks I've seen show the 4890 being near identical to the 275...?
