    Processor replacement

PC eye, you just don't give up, do you? Mind explaining how my Athlon XP 2800+ ran my two 512 sticks in dual channel mode just fine without any hitches? Considering that the Athlon XP's don't even have an on die memory controller? To reiterate what StrangleHold said, the memory controller for...

POLL : The worse Microsoft OS ever made....

You mean to say that you fell for it?
  5. pyvnetrvne.

What Core 2 do YOU have?

Which leads me to make the accusation that you did not think the poll through, due to the fact that you decided to include a lower end Core 2 which hasn't even been released yet (Q6600), and your decision to omit the highest end Core 2 which has already been launched (QX6700).

What Core 2 do YOU have?

Because ADE impulsively makes polls without thinking them through.

    AMD X2 or Intel D?

AMD dropped the PR scheme relative to Pentium 4 performance a while ago. So saying "Oh, it's an A64 3200+, so it's equal to a 3.2GHz P4" is wrong. Secondly, an X2 3800+ is not two A64 3000+'s slapped together, considering that a crossbar has to be implemented into the cores, so that they can...

    help!

Because Intel's latest processor line (Core 2) has significant architectural advantages over AMD's current processor line.

    help!

Well yeah, you're wrong. IBM's POWER4 CPU was the first dual core processor. Even if you are comparing AMD and Intel, you're still wrong. Intel released the Pentium D in May of 2005, meanwhile AMD released the Athlon 64 X2's in June of 2005.

    Quad Core Released!

Are you serious? You really expect the quad cores to be a higher clock speed, considering that the QX6700 already dissipates 130W of thermal power at 2.66GHz? The Core Duo has 2 CPU's, not 1 CPU acting like 2.

What happened to Socket 940, AM2 and F? Those are all K8 based also. The reverse HTT myth was debunked months ago.

No, but there are going to be programs in the future which will take advantage of the 8 cores.

Intel Quad core and and Octa-core (8 CPUs) will be released soon

Kentsfield is coming out in about a week. Don't you think that Intel would have announced a new socket scheme by now if there was going to be one?
