USB help: Camera and Zune stopped working

I'm running Vista, and I ran into a few problems when I installed my new HP printer. Once the printer was installed, my Kodak camera and Zune stopped working. It doesn't matter which USB port I use, they aren't recognized. It recognizes both as portable storage devices or something like that...

    Mac OS X 10.4 built-in VNC help

Well, I've sort of found a solution. I found that using OSXvnc instead of the integrated remote desktop for Mac helped. I can then access my Macbook from any computer online using realVNC viewer (and limit the colors scheme to like 8bit). Still, any other helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

    Mac OS X 10.4 built-in VNC help

I recently setup VNC on my home MacBook, and I've successfully accessed remotely through the internet. I was excited til I found how ridiculously slow it is. I believe it's due to the 32bit color setting on my Mac and other such settings, but I don't know how to change any of that. I've tried...

    VNC help: Mac and XP

Yeah, I already had enabled remote access, I just didn't realize that the integrated VNC worked the way it works. I don't have XP Pro, so I can't access my windows machine through the MS RDC. Okay, I think I know how to do the rest of it. It's similar to the process of forwarding a port for...

    VNC help: Mac and XP

Okay, so I just accessed my mac from my pc with realVNC viewer... without osxVNC running on my mac. Apparently I don't need to be running OSXvnc server to access my Mac? What's the purpose of OSXvnc then? Sorry, I'm somewhat new to this whole thing. Can I access my Mac remotely from an in...

    VNC help: Mac and XP

I'm trying to setup VNC between my Mac and MS PC. I have OSXvnc running on my Intel Macbook Pro, and I'm trying to access it from my Sony PC with RealVNC viewer on the same home network. When I enter the IP of the Mac on my pc in realVNC viewer, everything looks to be going well (asks for...

Strange activity on FTP: Security ?

I recently setup an ftp site, and in my server log, an IP that I don't recognize keeps attempting to connect. I get a message that says: Jul 11 17:21:38 xcomputernamex pure-ftpd: ([email protected]) [WARNING] Authentication failed for user [X] (X's used for privacy reasons) I get the...

    Help! Computer randomly reboots!

I finally figured it out! Woohoo! Alright, after all that, it turned out to be a video card issue (driver was corrupt or something of the sort). After doing a bit of research (thank goodness for Google), I finally pieced different tips together from other forums. The crucial step for me was...

    Help! Computer randomly reboots!

I'm posting this under this category because I assume this problem is caused from a hardware issue. I'm running Windows XP SP2 on my Sony VAIO (3.2 GHz Pentium 4, 1 gig RAM, 128mb ATI Radeon). Okay so here's the issue. My computer has started randomly restarting/rebooting. I've noticed it on...

FTP and Remote access newb help

I'm trying to setup an FTP site that I can access remotely (anywhere I can get internet connection). Can somebody walk me through this process? I'm not even 100% sure I can even do this with the equipment I have. I've been walked through this before (friend basically set it up for me, and I had...

    External Hard Drive not recognized

What exactly is the PCBA part? Sorry, not familiar with hardware technicalities. In regard to the other comments, yeah I could hook it up internally. I just worry about overheating the drive. My case holds the two drives pretty close together. I was hoping there was a simple solution because...

    External Hard Drive not recognized

Within the past couple weeks, my external hard drive stopped being recognized by my computer. It's a 160gb Seagate internal hard drive in a hard drive enclosure case. It worked fine on my computer up until a couple weeks ago. I took the hard drive to a friend's, and when I hooked it up to mine a...

    Wireless External Hard Drive

I'm a little confused. No, there isn't a way (at least that I know of) in which a home user like yourself can wirelessly use your hard drive. You should be able to use it with your laptop just as you would with a normal desktop computer

    User switching XP help

I'm not sure I know exactly what you're talking about, but I think I may have an idea. In regard to the first one, I don't believe so. This is simply my home computer. In regard to the second, I'm not really sure. How does this apply, and how do I check this?

    User switching XP help

I did check that. Both were set to manual, and I changed them to automatic. It didn't fix the problem though. Computer still reboots when I switch user and try to load another user name. Any other help you could give me? Any help would be great thanks!
