check the volume panel, is WAVE muted?, make sure that everything is unmuted and at a reasonable volume

There is a page within the management software that allows you to enable and to disable applications that are running, maybe something you did made them all turn off.

I just recently impulse bought the Logitech G35 and oddly enough can't be happier with it, it's solid, sounds good, feels good and works well.

I currently use an EEE 1005HA-P, it was 380 new on Newegg, It's been fantastic so far, next time I get a chance I'll hook it up to an external display and tell you how it goes.

What do you need a blu ray burner for? It seems like external drives would be more cost effective per gb for quite some time

either boot it and use an external display (burn a CD or copy to something else) or buy a hard drive enclosure and use that with another computer

I take all of my notes on an eee1005ha-p and have 0 problems. I like it a lot, but can't vouch for the HP.

I've actually heard some pretty bad alienware horror stories. But on the whole their machines are Ok.

I don't know of a list, but the only software that can do this is the OS as far as I know, though virus scan's and stuff like steam or programs with auto-up daters might also be the cause.

Do you have some reason to believe that you downloaded a virus?I trust AVG with my scans. Also someone may have just changed the privileges of your account, check to make sure that isn't the case. Also, reboots are always a good idea.
